Annecy and Voiron, France

Annecy and Voiron are two pretty little towns we wanted to visit so we booked train tickets and off we went exploring.

Annecy
Sometimes called “Pearl of the Alps”, Annecy (pronounced ‘an-si’), is 45 minutes by train from Grenoble, and lies in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in southeastern France. A beautiful lakeside village with amazing mountain and water views that made us glad when we arrived and sad when we left. This is a town we suggest you spend more than a day in.

Narbonne, France

Narbonne, France

Travelling by train to Bordeaux we had to stop in the lovely French town of Narbonne. We absorbed as much as we could with only 22 hours before our onward journey. We certainly were tempted to stay longer.


We were able to visit most of the recommended sites but it wasn’t at a frenzied pace. In fact we stopped for a leisurely glass of rosé wine and a cheese plate followed by a light and creative salad and salmon tartar that we shared. Ahh, the delicious french food!

Moving Day

Las Fallas is over proclaiming the coming of spring and Valencia has responded beautifully. The days are getting warmer, trees are in bloom and Semana Santa (Easter) celebrations are upon us – and today we change residences.
