It’s not quite spring but we awoke to what promises to be an unusually warm day. (72 F or 22 C) A good day to take our first trip to the beach; as in a Mediterranean beach!!
It is a 1.2 kilometer or .75 mile walk to the underground metro from our Airbnb, then an above ground ‘tramvia’ and finally a few more blocks to the beach. The beach was lovely and quiet at this time of year and I did get a chance to dip my toes in the Mediterranean Sea once again. We explored the nearby neighborhood or ‘barrio’ and then tried our first Valenciana Paella. Paellas are very popular here. They are a good warm hearty dish especially during the cooler months.
