Museo del Patrimonio Municipal

The Municipal Heritage Museum (MUPAM) made it on our list, not for the municipal history of Málaga, but because there was a large collection of clay figurines that told the story of Málaga  and Andalucia. These figurines were so well done that you couldn’t help but smile as you examined them.

Additionally there was an amazing temporary exhibition from a Bulgarian artist Valentín Kovatchev. We were both smitten with his painting style.

We were told that Mr. Kovatchev, who lives in Málaga, often stops by the museum to meet with visitors interested in discussing his art. Unfortunately he was not there on the day we visited the museum. It would have been fun to have met him.
